FERTILITY

Emily works as part of the Norwich Natural Fertility Partnership helping men and women with fertility problems to conceive naturally and offering support alongside IVF treatment.

PREGNANCY

Acupuncture is very effective during pregnancy and can help address the emotional highs and lows as well as physical symptoms including:

Morning sickness Migraines/headaches

High/low blood pressure Back pain

Tiredness Rib pain

Sciatica Acid reflux

Constipation Pelvic pain

Tender breasts Varicose veins

Carpal tunnel syndrome Anxiety

BREECH BABIES AND ACUPUNCTURE INDUCTIONS

Emily uses moxa (a type of herb that is burnt to create heat and applied to specific acupuncture points) to turn breech babies.

She also offers acupuncture inductions (post due date with the consent of the obstetric team). Please get in touch to discuss this.

ACUPRESSURE FOR LABOUR

Emily teaches women and their birth partners acupressure for labour so that they can self treat to help reduce anxiety, lessen pain, stimulation contractions, ripen the cervix, keep the baby in the best position, reduce nausea and increase energy.

POST BIRTH

Acupuncture is very effective post birth to help women assimilate their experience. It’s also great for energy levels, post natal depression, boosting milk supply and mastitis.

The fourth trimester should be a time of quiet rest for both mum and baby so they can recover. Forty days rest post birth without leaving the house is recommended (except for short walks to get some fresh air). This is a time to nourish the body with delicious food and to keep warm and cosy with your baby. Emily helps women set themselves up so they are prepared to do this and offers advice on the most nourishing foods post birth for regaining strength and boosting milk supply.

The way we look after ourselves during pregnancy and post birth has massive ramifications for our long term health as women.
